To
Volunteer:
We typically run Basic Restorative Justice Trainings
two times a year, in the spring and fall. If you are
interested in learning more about restorative justice
in general and the Concord and Carlisle models in
particular, please consider participating in these
opportunities. Training times are usually Friday evening
(6:00 to 9:00 PM) and all day Saturday (9:00 AM- 4:00
PM). The training is experiential- we have found most
people learn by doing, but we also work to create
a foundation for this learning by presenting on theory,
principles and concepts of Restorative Justice. Role
plays are used as a way to apply what we have learned
and practice skills in the process.
We welcome both youth and adult volunteers. Both
offer valuable perspectives and insights. Click on
the following link for our volunteer application form.
For our trainees, after the Basic training is completed,
you will shadow an experienced facilitator through
two or more cases. The next step is to be the lead
facilitator in a case with a seasoned volunteer as
your shadow. There is constant supervision and support
throughout the process.
We set aside a few slots for individuals, outside
our two towns, to participate in our trainings. This
is a part of outreach to the wider community in an
effort to educate the pubic on restorative justice.
